Concrete Beach
This collection of photographs reflects the shared experience of summer in Chicago. There’s something undeniable about the city during this time of year, especially along the Concrete Beaches, where the city meets the lake. I’m drawn to the way we claim this space, jumping in the lake fully clothed, towels spread across rough concrete, live jazz in the evenings, and gathering like it’s the only place to be. These moments reveal a version of Chicago that feels both deeply unique and universally understood.
